Q & A: Sharing Nail Polish and Infections

Q. Can I get an infection from nail polish that has been used on other people at the nail salon? 

 A.  It is highly unlikely. 

Nail polish is not a friendly environment for microbes. 

The ingredients in nail polish will not support the growth of bacteria or fungus.  

You won't catch anything funky from shared polish.
