WHAT DOES TOM MORROW DO BETWEEN SHOWS?

"Hello Humanoids, It's a great big beautiful tomorrow" proudly sings our robotic host, Tom Morrow. Welcome to Innoventions.

Here you can get a glimpse into the future brought to you by such corporate giants as Microsoft, HP, and Siemens. Walk through the house of the future designed by Taylor Morrison Homes. Or get a quick check up from St. Joseph's Healthy University. Or let the kids burn off some energy in air conditioned splendor with the Xbox Experience.

But one of the coolest things is Tom himself.

Tom is one of the most sophisticated Audio Animatronics in Disneyland. Voiced by Broadway and movie actor Nathan Lane, his job is to explain the purpose of Innoventions to guest as they first arrive. Once you load on the moving platform you watch a video of Tom. The doors swing open and the man (or robot) himself greets you by singing one of 4 different versions of the Sherman Brothers classic, "It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow".

Tom has been hanging around Tomorrowland since 1967. He first appeared as the flight director for Flight to the Moon.

When Tom is "on-stage" his animation is a thing to behold. But soon your moving platform is going to move and Tom says his goodbyes and waits for the next group. So you are probably wondering what does an audio-animatronic do when he is "off-stage"? Does he just shut down and save energy? Well no. He does what you would do. Don't believe me? Let the crowd move on. Step off the moving platform. And watch.

You will get a chance to see what is inside of the wonderful characters populating your favorite attractions. An engineering marvel. And for you hidden Mickey fans or detail freaks...welcome to heaven.

He got the memo from TDA.
So next time take a few minutes, spend some quality time with Tom.
